Marketing a historic home and supporting an important cause

Trina Macchi and Leslie Mann had a novel idea: They wanted to sell Trina’s spectacular home listing and they wanted to support breast cancer research —a cause that had hit close to home for both of their families.

They decided: Why not use this amazing house as the venue for a fundraiser? This would benefit the homeowners by showcasing their wonderful entertaining space and would serve as a gorgeous setting for a fundraiser.

Together, Trina and Leslie created the . Their vision was to offer visitors the opportunity to tour this exceptional Italianate Victorian home, shop for the latest fashions, hear a lovely classical music ensemble, enjoy delicious wine and hors d’oeuvres, and enter to win fabulous door and raffle prizes.

A talented team
Trina and Leslie excitedly began making preparations, bringing together talented clothing and jewelry designers, musicians, and caterers, and soliciting donations of desirable prizes, including jewelry from Tiffany’s and luxury accommodations from the Ritz Carlton. They collaborated with to present an exciting fashion show that evening.

Luxury home marketing
To market the home and the soiree, Leslie and Trina began an ambitious campaign encompassing media outreach, social media, direct marketing, and high-end posters.

Staging and decorating a historic home
After exquisitely staging the home, they collaborated with of Westborough, whose elegant floral arrangements and garlands highlighted the home’s distinctive architecture.

Detailed logistics
Trina and Leslie executed every detail of the event, from obtaining necessary permits to securing liability insurance and preparing for a police detail. Their attention to detail helped ensure a smooth evening for all involved.

A magical evening
A festive atmosphere greeted the hundreds of soiree guests, who kicked off the holidays while supporting a wonderful cause. Guests admired the historic home, shopped from more than a dozen fashion and jewelry vendors, dined on scrumptious treats, and previewed Lyn Evans’s gorgeous Holiday Collection.

An overwhelming success
Trina and Leslie were thrilled with the soiree. They raised more than $7,500 for the Art beCAUSE Breast Cancer Foundation , which investigates the environmental causes of breast cancer. 100 percent of the funds raised will be used toward a research grant at the Silent Spring Institute investigating the potential link between personal care and cleaning products and breast health.

Trina and Leslie were also very pleased to secure nearly 30 press releases, including two full-page stories in the MetroWest Daily News, plus radio coverage, to promote the home and the cause.
